Tech Assistant for ICT, Nigeria, Abuja

  • Closing Date: 2024-03-01

These advantageous locations have given the NRC increased access to the north and south of the North-East and North Central region. They have also enabled the NRC to play a role in bridging the gap between development cooperation and humanitarian aid by strengthening the rights of displaced people and returnees and emphasizing equitable access to basic services. Apart from the aforementioned Area Offices and the Country Office, NRC maintains sub-office structures in Monguno, Biu, Mubi, Pulka, and Gwoza.
We are seeking individuals who have a strong desire to assist refugees and those who are compelled to flee.
The Norwegian Refugee Council in Nigeria is seeking an enthusiastic and driven ICT Technical Assistant to join our team in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, if you fit the description. You’ll help.

In addition to potentially traveling to other Area field offices for support, you will help with the daily implementation of ICT (Information, Communication, and Technology) functional responsibilities at the Country level (Abuja and Maiduguri Office).

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) Geneva is in charge of coordinating donor engagement with the UN and Swiss donors, as well as leading NRC’s presence with the IASC and UN agencies. NRC works to support and shield displaced and vulnerable individuals in times of need, particularly during times of conflict. The NRC was founded in 1946 and is a humanitarian, independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization that employs over 14,000 people and operates in about 31 countries. Using a rights-based strategy, NRC challenges those tasked with defending the rights of displaced people as outlined by international and state law. NRC is dedicated to the values of humanity, neutrality, independence, and impartiality and works to gain the approval of local stakeholders for its operations.

In order to ensure that the rights of displaced and vulnerable persons are fully respected, to obtain and retain access for humanitarian operations, and to advance the development of lasting solutions, NRC aims to collaborate with all pertinent parties. The Internal Displacement Monitoring Center (IDMC) at NRC Geneva serves as the organization’s main base of operations in Geneva.
