The Master of Epidemiology is a unique programme in Flanders. You will acquire knowledge, skills and competences related to designing and conducting epidemiological research on questions concerning aetiology, prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment or prognosis of disease (illness), or on improving or maintaining health. You will be immersed in scientific research and learn to translate this into practice and policy to improve the health of people and populations.

Through a VLIR-UOS grant programme, this Master’s programme is supported by the Global Health Institute. This is one of the university’s interdisciplinary research centres, dedicated to the global improvement of population health, capacity building for global health research and implementation of evidence-based interventions for health problems in low and middle-income countries. The Master of Epidemiology is a two-year programme (120 ECTS) and has partnerships with universities and research institutes worldwide, allowing students to conduct research activities in the partner countries.
