Responsibilities
The GEWE intern will be carrying out the following tasks under the direct supervision of the Chief Central Service or his/her designated staff member and the GSC Gender Focal Point:
• Assist with Front Office administrative tasks for the Gender Focal Point.
• Arrangements for assistance in organizing meetings, workshops, and events.
In conjunction with the Gender Focal Point and the Gender Coordination Team, put together briefing materials, create PowerPoint presentations, and other presentations. Support the organization and coordination of filing papers and the upkeep of mailing lists.
• Carry out any additional administrative, logistical, and communication tasks as assigned by the Gender Focal Point.
Participate in the planning and preparation activities of the Gender Coordination Team for briefings, training, and presentations.
• Support the management of data and information.
• Assist in the planning of meetings.
• As needed, draft minutes during sessions.
• Carry out additional tasks as needed.

Clarification-seeking questions are asked, and a curiosity in two-way communication is shown. language, tone, style, and format are adjusted to the target audience. Openness in information sharing and keeping the public informed is displayed.
Education
Please be aware that candidates must fulfill one of the following conditions in order to be eligible for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme:
(a) be enrolled in or have finished a graduate program (second undergraduate degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in or have finished the last year of a first-year university program (minimum bachelor’s degree or similar).
Job-Specific Requirements
Microsoft Excel and Power Point proficiency is preferred.
Experience at Work
For the UN Internship Program, there is no prerequisite for prior employment. During your internship, the United Nations should profit from your training, education, advanced coursework, or abilities.
The working languages of the UN Secretariat are English and French. English proficiency in both oral and written form is necessary for the advertised position.
