Finance and budget officer, p4 needed in Nairobi
Organization: United Nations Environment Programme
A master’s degree or its equivalent in business administration, finance, or a closely related discipline is necessary.
The advanced university degree may be substituted with a first-level university degree and two (2) more years of relevant experience.
It would be ideal to successfully complete both degree granting and non-degree data analytics, business analytics, or data science programs.
Work Experience
A minimum of seven (7) years of steadily increasing responsibility in the areas of finance, management, budget, business administration, or a similar field is necessary.
It is necessary to have three (3) years of experience working for the UN or any comparable international agency.
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system knowledge is necessary.
Experience in a comparable international organization or with the application of UN Financial Rules and Regulations is preferred.
Experience in data analytics or a related field of two (2) years or more is preferred.
Languages
The working languages of the United Nations Secretariat are English and French. The listed position requires fluency in English. It would be ideal to have working knowledge of another UN official tongue.
NOTE: “Knowledge of” means a rating of “confident” in two of the four areas, whereas “Fluency” is a rating of “fluent” in all four areas (read, write, speak, understand).
Assessment
An assessment exercise and a competency-based interview may both be used to evaluate competent individuals.
