A temporary position is available at the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights for a human rights intern.
The intern will assist OHCHR in achieving its goals, which include working to defend all human rights for all people, assisting in the empowerment of individuals to realize their rights, and assisting those in charge of ensuring the implementation of those rights.
The activities carried out within the designated work unit, as well as the individual’s credentials and competencies, will determine the daily tasks of the Business and Human Rights Unit intern(s). In particular, the intern may draft reports, background materials, and other pertinent documents for the Secretary-General, High Commissioner, and the Secretariat as well as the General Assembly, the Economic and Social Council, and other relevant organizations. Duties may include, but are not limited to, researching and analyzing issues on a wide range of thematic issues mentioned above.
For the UN Internship Program, there is no prerequisite for prior employment. During your internship, the United Nations should benefit from your training, education, advanced coursework, or skills.
