A specific learning problem with neurological roots is dyslexia. In addition to having weak spelling and decoding skills, it is characterized by difficulty with accurate and/or fluent word recognition. These issues are often brought on by a phonological impairment in language, which is frequently unanticipated in light of other cognitive skills and the effectiveness of classroom training. The development of vocabulary and background information may be hampered by reading comprehension issues and a decreased reading experience, which are secondary effects. Over 700 million individuals worldwide are thought to be dyslexic, or one in five people, although little is known about dyslexia, some people are unaware they may be dyslexic, and dyslexic persons receive little to no support.
